Fraser Island, Australia

Fraser Island is an island that is all sand – not a reef. It’s undeveloped for the most part with a few dirt roads to get around by 4 wheel. There are lots of photo gifts along the shore to click.

These are HDR images processed in Photomatix. Each pic is the result of merging 7 images taken at different exposures. The tutorial section of this blog has a coupon if you want Photomatix at a discount.

These photos, and the whole HDR thing borders on magic. It’s amazing to see. Even the “after” samples on Photomatix’s site are astounding. This is definitely my next thing to try.

Wonderful work on these, and what is that rusty tube thingy through which you took the lower photo?

Hi, Thanks for the comments. The rusty tube is some sort of tank along the shoreline, sorry I don’t know the story behind it.ReplyCancel

The tank is a old boiler from a ship that was wrecked name unknown . Its gone now covered in sand or picked up in the last car and scrap clean up. Great picture of man and natureReplyCancel
