This is Kashi. He spends his time at Byron Headlight pointing out whales to the tourists. He told me it’s what he loves to do and is now a volunteer at the headlight. He was able to see a whale break the surface even when white caps were everywhere, he must be really good at Where’s Waldo. My original note said he was “Marriott.” I listened to the wrong .wav file.
Love this. Very evocative of a life on and near the ocean.
This is an incredible portrait. He has very kind eyes, but the wild hair and beard speak of someone a bit rough around the edges too.
I am hoping to be in Byron Bay next week to watch for whales. Will keep an eye out for Kashi.
Like this…u could write a novel around that face. bl
